In the organic fertilizer production process, the compost turner serves as a pivotal piece of equipment that permeates the core fermentation stage; it is often hailed as the "engine" of organic fertilizer fermentation. Through mechanized operations, it resolves numerous pain points associated with traditional composting methods. Not only does it guarantee fertilizer quality, but it also drives the transformation of organic fertilizer production from an extensive, rudimentary approach toward a standardized, high-efficiency model, making it an indispensable core asset for modern organic fertilizer plants.

The core value of the compost turner lies in its ability to provide sufficient oxygen for aerobic fermentation. Organic fertilizer fermentation relies on the metabolic activity of aerobic microorganisms; as fermentation progresses, the oxygen within the compost pile is rapidly depleted, creating an anaerobic environment. This leads to a decline in microbial activity and can even result in the generation of malodorous gases—such as hydrogen sulfide—thereby compromising both fermentation efficiency and environmental compliance. By performing deep-level turning, the compost turner brings anaerobic materials from the bottom layers to the surface while simultaneously introducing fresh air deep into the pile. Moreover, manual labor involves high physical exertion and often fails to achieve sufficient turning depth, making it impossible to meet the demands of large-scale production. In contrast, a compost turner can process anywhere from tens to hundreds of cubic meters of material per hour; a single machine can effectively replace the workload of more than ten manual laborers, thereby drastically reducing labor costs. Furthermore, it accelerates the decomposition of organic matter, shortening the traditional fermentation cycle from 3–6 months to just 15–30 days. This not only boosts production capacity but also minimizes material loss and ensures the consistent quality of the finished fertilizer.
Moreover, the compost turner helps mitigate environmental pollution and enhances operational safety. By turning and aerating the piles, it facilitates the release of malodorous gases; when integrated with environmental control systems, these gases can undergo targeted treatment to ensure compliance with environmental emission standards. Simultaneously, it eliminates the need for manual contact with corrosive raw materials, thereby reducing occupational health risks.
