What equipment is needed to make organic fertilizer from fresh chicken manure?

2026/06/06

Fresh chicken manure is rich in nutrients, but it has a high water content, contains pathogens and insect eggs, and has a strong odor, making it unsuitable for direct use as fertilizer. It requires standardized processing using specialized equipment, undergoing composting and other steps to be transformed into safe and high-quality organic fertilizer. The complete production equipment can be divided into three main categories: pretreatment, fermentation, and deep processing, adapting to the resource utilization needs of small and medium-sized farms.

Pretreatment equipment is the foundation of production, with the core components being a solid-liquid separator and a mixer. Fresh chicken manure has a water content of 60%-70%, making it too viscous for direct fermentation. The solid-liquid separator quickly removes excess water, adjusting the moisture content to around 50%, suitable for fermentation. Then, the mixer thoroughly mixes the dehydrated chicken manure with carbon source materials such as straw, rice husks, and sawdust, as well as fermentation bacteria, adjusting the carbon-to-nitrogen ratio to 25-30:1 to create the basic conditions for aerobic fermentation. Simultaneously, it breaks up clumps and removes impurities such as feathers.
The core equipment in the fermentation stage is the organic fertilizer compost turning machine, which is crucial for the proper decomposition of chicken manure. Chicken manure fermentation relies on aerobic microbial decomposition. The compost turning machine regularly turns and loosens the material, increasing its aeration, providing even oxygen supply and heat dissipation, and preventing the production of foul odors from anaerobic fermentation. It also quickly dissipates the high temperatures of fermentation, thoroughly killing pathogens, insect eggs, and weed seeds in the chicken manure, eliminating the risk of root burn. Conventional composting takes 20-30 days; the turning machine significantly shortens the fermentation cycle, allowing the material to fully decompose.
Deep processing equipment is used to improve the quality and appearance of organic fertilizer, mainly including crushers, screening machines, and granulators. After decomposition, the material may clump; the crusher can break the material into a fine and uniform state. The screening machine can filter impurities and uncomposted lumps, ensuring fertilizer purity. For commercially available granulated organic fertilizer, the powdered material can be granulated into uniform particles using a granulator, combined with drying and dust removal equipment, to improve the fertilizer's shelf life and ease of use.
The entire set of equipment is simple to assemble and easy to operate. It can not only solve the problem of chicken manure pollution, but also turn manure into treasure. It is the preferred solution for the ecological circular development of farms.
