It requires low investment, is easy to operate, and requires no fixed facilities; a small compost turner is sufficient, making it suitable for open-air sites. For medium-sized manufacturers with an annual production capacity of 30,000-100,000 tons, trough-type equipment is the optimal solution. Mechanized composting is highly efficient, with a stable composting cycle of 15-20 days, producing uniform finished product quality, balancing efficiency and cost. For large enterprises with an annual production capacity of over 100,000 tons, tank-type equipment can be selected. Its closed-loop, precise temperature control shortens the composting cycle to 7-10 days, and its high degree of automation meets the needs of high-end organic fertilizer production.
Raw material characteristics are the core basis for equipment selection. High-viscosity raw materials such as fresh chicken manure and sludge are suitable for tank-type equipment, as closed mixing prevents sticking to the walls. High-fiber raw materials such as straw and bamboo shavings are preferred for trough-type equipment, as the compost turner can fully break down fibers and improve aeration. Mixed raw materials can be flexibly selected according to production capacity, without the need for additional special equipment. At the same time, attention should be paid to the equipment's requirements for raw material particle size to avoid affecting the fermentation effect due to improper raw material handling.
Environmental requirements and cost budgets cannot be ignored. In areas with strict environmental regulations, closed equipment such as tank-type machines, equipped with exhaust gas treatment systems, are necessary to achieve zero odor emissions. For areas with limited budgets and less stringent environmental requirements, windrow equipment offers the best cost-effectiveness. Furthermore, equipment maintenance costs and energy consumption must be considered to avoid excessive operational burdens later on.
The core of equipment selection is "suitability" rather than "high-end." Producers need to consider their own production capacity, raw materials, environmental considerations, and budget, avoiding blindly following trends and prioritizing equipment with mature technology and comprehensive after-sales service.
