The chain plate compost turning machine is specialized equipment designed for the aerobic fermentation of organic solid waste. It is suitable for the deep-trench aerobic composting of various organic waste materials, including livestock and poultry manure, sludge, municipal solid waste, sugar mill filter mud, distillery grains, pharmaceutical residues, and crop straw.

The machine operates by traveling along rails mounted on the fermentation trench; it utilizes high-speed rotating chain plates to toss, aerate, and mix the composting material, ensuring thorough turning and oxygenation. Working principle of chain plate compost turning machine

The chain plate compost turning machine adopts a chain drive and rolling support pallet structure. The working frame of the whole machine is placed above the fermentation tank and can walk forward and backward longitudinally along the upper track of the tank. The flipping trolley is installed on the work frame, and the flipping components and hydraulic system are integrated on the trolley.

During operation, after the work frame reaches the designated turning position, the turning part is slowly penetrated into the groove through the control of the hydraulic system, and the chain plate begins to rotate continuously and advances along the groove with the entire work frame. The chain plate continuously grabs the materials in the trough, transports them diagonally to the back of the work frame, and drops them down. The material stays on the pallet for a long time and is fully exposed to the air after being thrown away at a high level.

Through horizontal and vertical displacement, the equipment can realize turning operations at any position in the tank. The lifting and lowering of the turning working parts is controlled by a hydraulic system, which is flexible, safe and fast. The turning depth can reach 1.8 to 2.0 meters, and the vertical material lifting height can reach 2 meters.

What are the application areas for chain plate compost turning machines?

Chain plate compost turning machines are widely used in the following scenarios:

Organic fertilizer production. Suitable for the aerobic fermentation and production of organic fertilizer from livestock and poultry manure (chicken, pig, cattle manure, etc.). It features a short fermentation cycle (7-8 days) and high daily and annual processing capacities.

Installation and Maintenance of the Chain Plate Compost Turning Machine

Installation Essentials.

During installation, ensure the fermentation tank rails are straight and level, and that the rail gauge matches the equipment span. Inject grease into the bearing housings after connecting the power supply. As the equipment travels along the rails during operation, the quality of the rail installation directly affects operational stability.

Routine Maintenance.

Check the oil level in the gearbox before use. Change the oil after the initial 100 hours of operation, and subsequently every 1,000 operating hours (or at least once a year). Check the oil quantity weekly; if the level has dropped, inspect for leaks and top up with gear oil promptly.

Chain Maintenance.

Given the dusty operating environment, select a lubricant with strong adhesion and contamination resistance (such as lithium-based grease). Regularly lubricate moving parts such as chain pins and rollers, adjusting the lubrication frequency based on the intensity of use.

General Inspections.

Periodically check for loose bolts or weld failures. Verify that the oil levels in the gearbox and hydraulic tank meet standard requirements. Replenish grease in the bearing housings after 72 hours of operation.
