Segregation of bulk mixed fertilizer in small organic fertilizer equipment

2022/12/02

Segregation of bulk mixed fertilizer for small organic fertilizer equipment: bulk mixed fertilizer may cause uneven distribution of nutrients in fertilizer, resulting in unreasonable nutrient supply after being applied to soil. This phenomenon is called "segregation". "Nutrient segregation" is not closely related to the density and size of fertilizer, mainly because the particle size distribution proportion of different fertilizer raw materials is too different. Even if the grain size of basic fertilizer is within the range of - 6~+18 mesh, it is not enough to show that the grain size is consistent. Practice has proved that the consistency of grain size of raw fertilizer used for blending fertilizer not only requires the consistency of upper and lower limit values of grain size, but also requires that they have similar particle size distribution, that is, the proportion of particles with different grain sizes in the two fertilizers is close. The production practice shows that the difference between the particle size distribution curves of each raw material in the mixed fertilizer is not more than plus or minus 10%, which is acceptable.

Therefore, it is an important step for small organic fertilizer production equipment to analyze the particle size distribution of different raw materials before mixing fertilizer to ensure the quality of mixed fertilizer. The particle size is generally analyzed by sieves, that is, a set of plastic sieves or stainless steel sieves with apertures of 6, 8, 12, 16, 20 meshes with covers and bottoms are used, and the sieves are stacked from top to bottom in the order of aperture from large to small. On the bulk fertilizer stack, roughly divide the fertilizer into about 20 units visually. Take some fertilizer samples from each unit. After the samples are fully mixed together, take out about 500g of samples by quartering method. After mixing them evenly, weigh 200~500g of samples, pour them into the top layer of the sieve, cover them, mechanically vibrate or shake hands for 5min, and then weigh the quality of fertilizer in each aperture sieve, Divide by the total amount of samples to calculate the distribution rate of different fertilizer particle sizes.

In addition, in the loading and unloading process of small organic fertilizer equipment, large particles of materials will slide from the top of the cone along the circumference of the cone to produce a cone effect. The vibration in the transportation process will also cause large particles to flow to the side, and small particles will gather at the bottom of the fertilizer pile, which may cause some nutrient segregation. However, as long as the particle proportion difference between different materials is controlled, These changes caused by grain size have little effect on nutrient evenness.
