For investors, a scientific approach to selecting an organic fertilizer production line should focus on four key factors: raw material types, production capacity, the form of the finished product, and site conditions.

First, identify the raw materials, as this forms the basis for equipment selection. Common raw materials include livestock and poultry manure (such as chicken, cattle, and pig manure) and agricultural or forestry waste (such as crop stalks and palm waste). Materials vary significantly in moisture content and texture, requiring different types of supporting equipment. For instance, high-moisture manure requires specialized fermentation compost turners and dewatering equipment, whereas materials like stalks and vines require pre-processing crushing equipment. Matching equipment to material characteristics effectively prevents issues like material clumping or production bottlenecks, ensuring the line runs continuously and stably.

Start-up factories are best suited to small-scale lines (1–5 tons per hour) to meet basic needs, while established, large-scale plants can opt for medium-to-large fully automated lines for mass production. Start-ups should avoid blindly pursuing high-capacity equipment, which drives up investment, space requirements, and maintenance costs; selecting equipment that aligns with actual output needs is the optimal strategy.
Third, customize the production line based on the desired form of the finished fertilizer. Organic fertilizer comes primarily in powder or granular forms, requiring significantly different production line configurations. Powder fertilizer lines involve simpler processes, lower investment costs, and fewer pieces of equipment, making them ideal for manufacturers with limited budgets targeting the basic market. Granular fertilizer offers uniform particles, moisture resistance, and ease of storage and transport, commanding higher market value; however, it requires core equipment such as granulators, polishers, and screening machines to meet mid-to-high-end market demands. Manufacturers can make their choice based on local market preferences and product positioning. Finally, consider both the factory site conditions and the manufacturer's after-sales service. For facilities with limited space, a compact, integrated production line is ideal; conversely, large, standardized facilities can utilize a modular assembly-line layout for a more organized production setup. Furthermore, it is essential to select a manufacturer with a comprehensive after-sales support system—covering on-site installation, equipment commissioning, technical training, and ongoing maintenance—to minimize the risk of equipment failure and reduce long-term operational costs, thereby ensuring smooth and orderly production.
